KOLKATA, FEB. 16. Two prime suspects of last month's terrorist attack on the American Center were brought here from Rajasthan and produced in a city court today providing a new twist to the month-long investigation. Both the suspects were remanded to police custody till March 2.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detective Department), Soumen Mitra, said Shakil Mullick alias Moulana and Patel Dilip Kumar Kantilal were brought here early today from Jaipur by train by a team of senior city police officials under a tight security cover.

Refusing to give details, Mr. Mitra, however, said both Shakil and Dilip were arrested on the basis of important clues provided by Jamaluddin Nasir, another suspect. Both of them were residents of Jaipur for a long time and were involved in hawala rackets.

A new jeep recovered from the Jaipur residence of Dilip Patel was seized by the police. But the vehicle was kept in the safe custody of the Rajasthan police, Mr. Mitra said.

He did not rule out possibility of the car being used for other activities in and around Rajasthan by Dilip Patel.
