'India must pressure Pak.'
By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI, FEB. 16. The BJP president, Jana Krishnamurthi, today said that the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, had come out with a statement of facts only by reporting his failure to resolve the Ayodhya tangle.

Commenting on Mr. Vajpayee's statement that his efforts had failed due to the ``unrelenting attitude of both the parties'', Mr. Krishnamurthi, during a media briefing, said ``the Prime Minister makes a statement of facts. I would like to wait till March 12 (the deadline given by the VHP for starting temple construction).''

Earlier, ruling out a war between India and Pakistan, Mr. Krishnamurthi asked the Government to exert further pressure on Pakistan to force it to stop cross-border terrorism, apart from handing over 20 wanted criminals who have taken shelter in that country.

He ruled out a dialogue with Pakistan until it yielded to the Indian demand for an end to Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and return wanted terrorists.
