Letters to the Editor
Sir, The write-up by Lt. Gen. K.S. Randhawa on the imperative need for giving due dignity to the armed forces (Feb. 5) should open the eyes and ears of the powers that be in New Delhi. Everyone will agree with the author that the decline in the standing of the armed forces started after the first service chief accepted a lucrative post-retirement gubernatorial assignment; it will be in the interest of retired defence personnel to decline any such allurement offered by the self-serving political masters of the day. K. Ramasubramanian, Coimbatore, T.N.
