ISLAMABAD, FEB. 19. Pakistan has rejected India's request to share information extracted from Omar Sheikh arrested in connection with the kidnapping of the U.S. reporter, Daniel Pearl. A senior official of the Pakistan Government maintained here that there was no justification in the Indian demand. ``The Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman has already denied the contents of the reports published in a section of the press that claimed to be based on interrogation of Omar Sheikh'', the official said. In another development, the Pakistan President, Pervez Musharraf, today said the United States could help in reducing tensions between Pakistan and India. ``With the help of U.S. facilitation, the de-escalation in tension between India and Pakistan may take place in May-June,'' he told a gathering of journalists, writers and intellectuals here. ``We have no problem in maintaining our heavy deterrence on our international borders with India,'' Gen. Musharraf said in an obvious reference to the statement made by the Defence Minister, George Fernandes, that India had no intention of withdrawing its troops from the borders immediately.
