New SEBI chief

NEW DELHI, FEB. 19. G.N. Bajpai, chairman of the Life Insurance Corporation of India, was today appointed chairman of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The appointment will be for a period of three years. Mr. Bajpai succeeds D.R. Mehta, who retires tomorrow.
