NTPC rejects DPC take-over proposal

NEW DELHI, FEB. 19. The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) today rejected the Maharashtra Government's proposal to bid for the Dabhol Power Project (DPC), saying a takeover would ``seriously burden'' its resources.

``The taking-over of the DPC by the NTPC will seriously burden the resources of the NTPC and adversely affect the credit rating of NTPC which in turn will jeopardise the capacity addition programme of NTPC,'' the State-owned power utility said.
