THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, FEB. 19. The Chief Minister, A.K. Antony, today asked the Tribal Mission to prepare a detailed report for using vested forest land for rehabilitating the tribals to be submitted to the Centre. He said that the Government was pledge bound to rehabilitate them and provide basic facilities of life including land to them. He undertook to convince the Centre of the need for giving the vested forest land to them and their eligibility for it. He asked the Tribal Mission to seek the cooperation of the other departments for preparing the report. After submitting the report, he would personally take up the matter with the Prime Minister and the Union Minister for Forest and Environment for getting 12,000 hectares of forest land for the purpose.
