Plague-affected child reported serious

Chandigarh, Feb. 24. A three-year-old daughter of a patient suspected to be infected with plague has been admitted to hospital and both are stated to be serious.

Karamjeet Kaur and her daughter, Jasbir, are receiving treatment at the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. The child was admitted last night, a PGIMER statement said. Karamjeet, a native of Riond Khurd in Mansa district of Punjab, had contracted plague from her husband, Krishan Singh, who died of the disease. _ UNI
