NEW DELHI, FEB. 24. The new short-term security measures for Parliament House came into force today. The budget session begins tomorrow with an address by the President, K.R. Narayanan to the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha members.

The new measures have been recommended by the Joint Committee on Parliament Security, set up after the December 13 terrorist attack.

Changes have been made on the entry and exit points of the complex.

The entry of self-driven vehicles of mediapersons has been restored after protests by the Lok Sabha Press Advisory Committee.

The Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker and Chairman of the Joint Committee on Parliament Security, P.M. Sayeed, visited the complex and reviewed the new arrangements this morning.

The entry of mediapersons will be from Gate No. 9, opposite the Red Cross building.
