BJP leading in Jammu

JAMMU FEB. 24. Even as the BJP candidate, Nirmal Singh, was leading in the Jammu parliamentary constituency at the end of the sixth round, he joined hands with Congress and People's Democratic Party candidates to get the counting of Rajouri and Darhal segments stalled..

According to election officials, the BJP candidate was leading by 5,000 votes. He had got 1,34,000 votes, whereas the Congress candidate, Madan Lal Sharma, got 1,29,000 votes and the ruling National Conference candidate, Talib Hussain, 1,06,000 votes.
