The Chief Minister O. Paneerselvam, cutting a 54-kgcake at the AIADMK headquarters in Chennai, to celebrate Ms. Jayalalithaa's birthday.
CHENNAI, FEB. 24. While laying down office, the Chief Minister, O. Paneerselvam, today thanked the AIADMK general secretary, Ms. Jayalalithaa, for guiding him through the five months he was in the Chief Ministerial chair. In his address to AIADMK partymen at the legislature group meeting, he said Ms. Jayalalithaa had enthused partymen and the people by asserting that the AIADMK Government remained in power when she was evicted from office in contravention of the people's mandate. Now that Ms. Jayalalithaa was again to assume office as Chief Minister, ``It is a matter of great pleasure for all of us,'' he said.
