CHENNAI, FEB. 24. The AIADMK candidate, Jayalalitha, was today declared elected from Andipatti, byelection to which was held on Thursday.

Following are voting figures:

Total votes polled: 1,34,744

Valid votes: 1,34,734

Jayalalitha (AIADMK): 78,437

Vaigai Sekar (DMK): 37,236

V. Jeyachandran (MDMK): 8,421

Krishnasamy (PT): 5,126

Both the MDMK and PT candidates lost their deposits along with the remaining 20 Independents.
