COLOMBO, FEB. 26. Sri Lanka's rival power centres seem set for a major confrontation over a cease-fire accord signed by the Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe, with the LTTE last week. The President, Chandrika Kumaratunga, has warned that she could nullify the pact with a single directive to the armed forces as it was finalised without her consent. However, the Government rejected her position, claiming that her control over the armed forces was confined to external conflicts and would not cover internal problems. - PTI
