Hewitt advances

SAN JOSE, FEB. 28. Lleyton Hewitt moved up beating Michael Llodra 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 in the second round match of the Siebel Open here on Wednesday.

In other second-round matches, sixth-seeded Xavier Malisse of Belgium beat Russian Nikolay Davydenko 6-4, 6-2, Australian Wayne Arthurs defeated Andre Sa of Brazil 4-6, 6-1, 6- 4, Jan-Michael Gambill beat Kenneth Carlsen of Denmark 7-6 (10- 8), 6-2 and eighth-seeded Wayne Ferreira of South Africa beat Kristian Pless of Denmark 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
