First woman joint director for CBI

NEW DELHI MARCH 1 . Away from the glare of high-profile cases, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today notched up a distinction of a different kind. The agency got the first woman Joint Director, Archana Ramasundram, joining the elite rank of top investigators who handle sensitive corruption and criminal cases.

She belongs to the Tamil Nadu cadre of the 1980 batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS).
