The Home Minister, Mallikarjun Kharge, will arrive here at 5.30 p.m. to discuss official matters and proceed to Gulbarga by 8 p.m. The Health and Family Welfare Minister, A.B.Maalakraddy, will listen to public grievances and hold talks with officials at 5 p.m. He will leave for Bangalore on Monday. The Revenue Minister, H.C.Srikantaiah, will be here at 6 p.m. for a discussion with officials and return to Bangalore the next day. K.H.Ranganath, Minister for Forests, too will be here at 6.30 p.m. and after meeting with officials will leave for Hubli. The Governor, V.S.Rama Devi, will also be here. Apart from the ministers, there are several VIPs who will be arriving here on Sunday. Why this sudden beeline for Belgaum? Whatever may by the official programmes of the ministers, the fact is that they all will be here in connection with the wedding of the daughter of the KLE Society President, Prabhakar Kore, MLC. Though the wedding took place on Saturday, the celebration has been scheduled on Sunday from 7.30 p.m. But the question that is being asked is: "Why give an official tag to the visit." But the Governor has been candid, going by her official tour programme, that she would arrive here to attend the wedding of Mr. Kore's daughter. The city corporation has taken up repairs to the road leading to the function venue. People who have long been complaining about the poor condition of road have reason to be happy.
