JAMMU MARCH 2. The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has condemned the "terror unleashed against Muslims'' in Gujarat and criticised the BJP Government at the Centre and in the State for adopting a discriminatory policy against them.

The former chairman of the Hurriyat, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that the massacre of Muslims in Gujarat has exposed the "Indian secularism'' which according to him had no basis.

Expressing shock and grief over the wave of innocent killings, he said the BJP Government had adopted a discriminatory policy against the minorities and it had become amply clear that they were not safe in India.

"The hooligans butchered Muslim under a well-knit patronage of the Government led by the BJP in Gujarat as well as the Centre,'' he said demanding an impartial inquiry into the incidents which started from Wednesday. Mirwaiz led a `gaibana nimaze jinaza' (funeral prayer in absentia) offered to hundreds of Muslims who were killed in the riots.

Another former chairman, Syed Ali Geelani has also held the BJP Government responsible for the massacre of Muslims and said that this vindicated Hurriyat's stand for "separation from India''.
