One stabbed in Rajasthan

JAIPUR, MARCH 3. One person was stabbed as fresh communal violence erupted in a town in Sirohi district of Rajasthan, a senior police official said today.

Police intervened and disengaged members of two communities at Swaroopganj town, the IGP (law and order), A.K. Jain, said. One person was arrested in connection with the clash.

Trouble arose when a bus driver rammed his vehicle into a tree in a field and sought help. When some persons from a taxi stand moved towards the field, members of another community challenged them.

The person who was stabbed was admitted to hospital, Mr. Jain said, adding that the situation was under control.
