MUMBAI, MARCH 4. Mukesh Kumar of Mhow will seek to continue his winning ways at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club (BPGC) par-70 course in the DHL Open Golf, scheduled from March 5 to 9. He has won three out of five events on the course, finishing runner-up in the other two, and recently became the first golfer on the Hero Honda Tour to cross the Rs. 1.5 million mark in one season. The DHL Open, 22nd leg of the Hero Honda Indian Golf Tour, is a four-day pro tournament, followed by a pro-am on March 9 involving leading pros, talented amateurs and corporate invitees. About 100 pros are expected to take part in the main event, with prizemoney being Rs. 97,000 for the winner and Rs. 67,200 for the runner-up. Apart from Mukesh, other leading golfers like Uttam Singh Mundy, Ali Sher and Indrajit Bhalotia, youngsters Rahil Ganjee, Rahul Ganapathy and Ashok Kumar, besides veterans Rohtas Singh and Shiv Prakash will take part. The tournament is being managed by Tiger Sports Marketing (TSM) and will mark DHL Worldwide Express's debut as a title sponsor on the Indian Golf Tour. A notable absentee is Feroz Ali of Kolkata, according to Digraj Singh of TSM. ``Most of our customers are involved in golf, so it is natural for us to be associated with a top golf event,'' said Mr. S.
