Letters to the Editor
Sir, It is fitting that the head of the Kanchi Mutt, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, has brought Muslims and Hindus together on the same platform, so to say, for the Ayodhya tangle. It is a real breakthrough that all parties concerned have agreed to seriously consider his suggestion to allot the undisputed land for the Ram temple. It is very practical for the Vishwa Hindu Parishad also to have agreed to give up its demand for the disputed place till the court verdict. The undisputed territory may be given immediately as per the Kanchi solution. Every sensible Indian is looking forward to a solution to the dispute as per the Kanchi formula. But of course a few political parties that are not really interested in Ram or Rahim may not be happy about the solving of the dispute and may create trouble. They would like to fish in troubled waters. I am sure our mature leaders will ignore these trouble-mongers and implement the Kanchi prescription to solve the Ayodhya question. The Kanchi formula is an honest attempt to solve the issue and I hope this will be accepted by all.
K. Venkatasubramanian,
