NEW DELHI, MARCH 8. Amid vociferous protests and walkout by almost the entire Opposition, a Bill to replace the controversial Prevention of Terrorism Ordinance (Poto) was introduced by the Home Minister, L. K. Advani, in the Lok Sabha today. Introducing the Bill, Mr. Advani said terrorism was a serious challenge facing the country and, therefore, there was need for more stringent laws to tackle the menace. Assuring the House that the measure would be used only for tackling terrorism ``sparingly and not casually'', he appealed to all political parties, especially the Congress, to help its passage unanimously and expressed the Government's readiness to consider amendments to the legislation.
