ISLAMABAD, MARCH 8. Pakistan invited the Home Minister, L.K. Advani, to visit Islamabad in an attempt to defuse tensions between the two countries, officials said today. The Pakistan Interior Minister, Moinuddin Haider, extended the invitation to Mr. Advani, through an intermediary attending the seven-nation South Asian Ministerial conference on information and communications here. Mr. Haider invited Mr. Advani for talks to ease tensions between the two countries, a Pakistani Interior Ministry official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. - AP
