Around 1,500 people are expected to take part in the ceremony which will include relatives of those killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. Members of Congress and diplomatic representatives especially from those nations who are part of the coalition in the campaign against terrorism will be present. The President will outline the current and next phase of his campaign against terror in a speech being billed by the White House as important. "He will commemorate what took place, express the nation's sorrow and sympathies to the families, speak to the nation about the importance of the cause and discuss the future of the missions that lie ahead," a White House Spokesman said. The Defence Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld is expected to take coalition partners to the Pentagon for a tour of the area hit by the plane. Ceremonies are being planned in New York too. The Vice- President, Dick Cheney, who is setting out on a 12-nation tour, will join the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair in London for a ceremony to remember the victims. Mr. Bush's speech tomorrow is expected to focus more on the larger aspects of the war on terror, including tracking down terrorist masterminds and decimating their network and resources. Senior administration officials say while the U.S. may work with countries such as the Philippines, Yemen and Georgia to track down terrorists, it will also hunt and track down terror outfits even without formal understandings.
