Letters to the Editor
Sir, The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, has declared that she wants to make Tamil Nadu the no.1 State in the country in all aspects. While her ambition is to be appreciated, the common man wishes to see Tamil Nadu as the no.1 corruption-free State. We have suffered the bane of corruption for long. The people have to grease the hands of every official. Right from village-level officers to senior bureaucrats, all think it is their right to demand money and give the go-by to ethical thoughts. Ms. Jayalalithaa should endeavour to eradicate corruption and create a transparent and blemishless administration.
G. Vedarajan,
