Opinion - Letters to the Editor

Don't forget 1984

Sir, — This has reference to Harish Khare's article "The guilty men of Ahmedabad" (March 7), in which he proclaims that never before has a State Government been so guilty of siding with rioters.

He should note that the killing of thousands of Sikhs in Delhi in 1984 was a more shameful act because all our politicians were present there at that time. Instead of searching for scapegoats, we should look into the problem of religious fanaticism more seriously.

J.L.N. Prasada Rao,
Vijayawada, A.P.
