SRINAGAR, MARCH 16. Five militants were among six people killed in Jammu and Kashmir, where security forces nabbed a top ultra and busted two hideouts since last night, an official spokesman said. Two Pakistani ultras were shot dead in Ogadh area of Doda district and one each in Rajouri and Poonch districts. Three of them were identified as Abu Kamran of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Shahbaz of al-Badr and Zuber of Harkat-ul-Jehadi-Islami. Recoveries from them included four AK-56 rifles with eleven magzines and 40 rounds, two handgrenades, one under barrel grenade launcher and one radio set. A Hizbul Mujahideen militant, identified as Mohammad Shafi Lone, was shot dead in an enounter with BSF personnel at Sheikhpura-Barzulla in Baramulla district. Ultras shot at and critically injured a civilian in downtown Srinagar. He later succumbed in a hospital. BSF personnel arrested a self-styled company commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, Tanveer Ahmed Wani, who carried a reward of Rs. 50,000 on his head, near a hospital here. An AK 56, five magazines, 135 rounds and two hand grenades were seized from him. Security forces busted a militant hideout in Ghambir Mugliuv area of Rajouri district and recovered 104 rounds of AK rifles, 17 rounds of Pikka gun, one grenade and some explosives. They also smashed a militant hideout in a village in Arampora in Baramulla district and seized some arms and ammunition. Security personnel and militants exchanged fire at Dishnan-Uggad in Doda district in which one militant was injured but he escaped along with his accomplices. - PTI
