Letters to the Editor
Sir, Most people in the country heaved a sigh of relief when March 15 passed off without any major incidence of violence in Ayodhya. In the background of the tension on the previous day, one feels that all those involved acted with remarkable restraint. It is surprising that in spite of this, certain communalists thought of picking holes in the developments. It appears that some people do not want to see the end of the mandir-masjid issue. The comments of the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament were uncharitable. Why not build a temple and a mosque in Ayodhya so that those who want to pray and worship can do so, leaving the over thousand million people in this country to lead their life in peace? Let us think about solving serious problems such as poverty, illiteracy, malnutrition and unemployment. The communalists forget that their actions lead to the loss of life and property of the people. It is a tragedy that we are now our own enemies. B.S.Warrier, Thiruvananthapuram
