Collector missing

IMPHAL, MARCH 19. The whereabouts of Yambem Thamkishore, District Collector of Chandel, who was kidnapped by tribal insurgents on Monday, is not known yet. The Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi, will make a statement on the incident in the Assembly tomorrow.

Intensive search operations launched by the security forces have drawn a blank. The Collector and his wife were coming to office from his house in Imphal when the insurgents intercepted their vehicle.
