THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 20. The equipments for WLL (Wireless in Local Loop) in Chirayinkeezhu, Neyyattinkara and Nedumangad taluks of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.'s Thiruvananthapuram SSA will be commissioned shortly, a press release issued by BSNL said here on Wednesday. It is proposed to give 500 connections in each taluk. The connections will be provided from Nagaroor, Poikamukku, Vakkom, Plamoottukada, Pongummoodu, Parassala and Aruvikkara. WLL connections will also be provided from Vithura, Peringamala and Elavupalam ex-servicemen colony areas of Bharathannoor exchange, subject to the availability of signal. For conversion of the existing waiting list for new phone connections to that of WLL, an option form is to be filled up by the applicants in the above area. Interested applicants, who have registered on or before March 20, 2002 may approach the telephone exchange or sub-divisional office concerned within one week, for getting the option form. There is no additional registration fee. A nominal additional charge of Rs. 20 per month will be collected towards the insurance premium on the WLL equipment. At present, there is no difference in rental and call charges and connections will be provided on a first-come-first serve basis.
