U.S. staff asked to leave

By Our Legal Correspondent

WASHINGTON MARCH 22. The United States has ordered the departure of all non-emergency staff and dependents from the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad due to the security situation, the U.S. State Department said today. ``We will be identifying non-emergency personnel and dependents and they will then make arrangements for the departure of those people expeditiously. However, our embassy and consulates will remain open,'' the spokesman, Phil Reeker, said, adding that the embassy was closed until Tuesday. — Reuters
