LUDHIANA MARCH 23. A brace, including an injury time winner, by Hardip Saini helped JCT Mills Phagwara beat ITI, Bangalore 2-1 in a Tata National football league match here today. Hardip Saini put JCT ahead in the 13th minute following a free kick by Hardip Gill. Gill's effort rebounded off an ITI defender and Saini made no mistake with the chance. JCT kept the lead till the 73rd minute when Nigerian Mohammad Salisu restored parity for ITI with a brilliant goal. As the teams were set to split the points Saini's all- important goal came three minutes into the injury time to seal the fate of ITI. This was JCT's third victory in 18 matches. ITI, playing without five of its star players John Urwo, Mikeoro, Hussain, Jitesh (all injured) and George Ekeh (red card), has 27 points and JCT is on 14 points after the 18th round of NFL.
