Letters to the Editor
Sir, The National Cadet Corps is one of the major youth organisations in the country and plays a creditable role in shaping the character of our youth by instilling in them the values of patriotism, service, discipline and hardwork. Recently, the Tamil Nadu Government made a 30 per cent cut in the allocation made in the previous budget for NCC. Due to this, the annual training camps were cancelled by various NCC units in the State. As a former NCC volunteer and mountaineer, I request the State Government not to make any cuts in the budget allocation for NCC training and adventure activities during 2002-2003.
J. Balachander,
