KOLKATA, MARCH.24. Tata Steel rode on Vijay Topno's hat-trick for a convincing 5-2 win over Calcutta Cricket and Football Club (CCFC) and moved up in the knock-out preliminary leg of the 107th all-India Beighton Cup hockey here on Sunday. In another match, Calcutta State Electricity Supply Corporation pipped local rival Food Corporation of India (FCI) 1-0 through Christopher Thomas' 42nd minute goal. CCFC drew the first blood through Sunil Kumar who converted a penalty corner in the 28th minute but Tata Steel took over almost immediately as Topno scored the equaliser in the 31st minute.Topno struck in the 37th and 42nd minutes to complete his hat-trick the third in the tournament and give the visitor a comfortable 3-1 lead. Arvind Kumar then scored a brace in the 47th and 58th minute to make Tata Steel take an invincible 5-1 lead. Pritam Mistry pulled one back for the local side in the 68th minute. Our Sports Reporter
