Talking to The Hindu, Mirwaiz Farooq said, "I welcome the Prime Minster's announcement that he will come to the State and see for himself the ground realities prevailing here. At the same time the visit of the Prime Minister carries little importance if it turns out to be a symbolic activity." "Mr. Vajpayee should come up with a clear decision on what he is going to do in the State. I do not know how much can be achieved in one visit, but at the same time an effort can be made towards initiation of some kind of process toward solving the problem," he added.
