Letters to the Editor
Sir, That the Gujarat Government transferred 27 senior police officers for taking efforts to contain the on-going violence is ample evidence to its nexus with the rioters. This also explains why barring a few, most police officials deliberately allowed the constitutional machinery to become dysfunctional. It shows the growing political dominance in the functioning of police administration. Till our men in uniform are allowed to function without interference, they would never be able to do full justice to their duty in the hour of crisis.
V. Rajesh,
