Digvijay plans to ban VHP, Bajrang Dal

BHOPAL MARCH 28. The Madhya Pradesh Government would consider banning the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, the Chief Minister, Digvijay Singh said here today.

Mr. Singh said his Government was examining the enactment of a law for banning them.

His Government had long been demanding that the Centre ban the two bodies just as it did the Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), but there had been no response.

``We will be forced to take action ourselves in view of the Centre's insensitiveness,'' he added.
