'I don't agree with Kapil'

Kolkata March 30. India skipper Sourav Ganguly on Saturday said he did not agree with legendary all rounder Kapil Dev's recent assessment of him and Sachin Tendulkar.

``No, I don't agree with his statement,'' Ganguly replied when he was sought a reaction to Kapil's observation. Ganguly, who was speaking to newspersons at a function organised by his sponsor Pepsi, said Kapil had expressed what he felt. ``That is his personal observation. Basically, I have nothing to say on it''.

Asked how he had taken the critical comments made by the former India skipper, Ganguly said, ``I read it just as I read other articles.''

Kapil had said India would have been a different team if one could change the attitudes of Ganguly and Tendulkar. ``Sometimes you do get the impression that they are just in their own world. Sorry to say that, but you get the impression that they are not (part of) team, even though they are great cricketers,'' Kapil said adding ``they are committed to play but the commitment to win - that is what is lacking.''

Kapil had also criticised Ganguly for his `inability' to motivate the team. — PTI
