Opinion - Letters to the Editor

We, the people

Sir, — No political leader — Hindu or Muslim — went to Gujarat to console the people. All the leaders went there to exploit the situation for their political advantage.

The fact is there is no hatred between Hindus and Muslims. While one party exploited Muslims for the past fifty years for their votes, another party has started exploiting the majority community for the same.

Ayodhya is not a prestige issue. Let the people of Ayodhya and Faizabad solve the problem without interference from outside. Hindus must build a mosque for the Muslims and Muslims must help construct a Ram temple whole-heartedly. Where the Constitution, parties and religious leaders have failed, we the people should raise and solve the Ayodhya issue.

K.S.V. Raghavan, Chennai
