Though details of the ninth and final round were not available, according to information provided by the All India Chess Federation, the Indian players called the shots in the under-10, under-12 and under-14 sections but drew a blank in the under-16 category. Third seeded K. Nikhilesh Kumar claimed the gold in the boys' under-14, while top seed G. Rohit settled for bronze. As reported earlier, Parimarjan Negi took the under-10 title. Second seeded D. Among the girls, as expected, favourite Harika Dronavalli won the girls' under-12 title with ease. V. K. Sindhu, seeded 14th, added to India's joy by winning the silver. P. Laxmi Sahiti, seeded 10, became the under-10 champion while fifth seed G. Madansri followed with the bronze medal. Second seed Kruttika Nadig claimed the bronze in the under-14 section.
