Court order

AHMEDABAD APRIL 3. A designated court has asked the CBI to arrest and produce on April 25 Ketan Parekh, the main accused in Rs. 1,000 crore Madhavpura Mercantile Co-operative Bank scam, after he failed to deposit Rs.16 crore as compensation for the small investors.

Cancelling his bail yesterday, the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, S.J. Seth, gave the order in response to an application moved by Mr. Parekh seeking more time to deposit the money. He had so far deposited nearly Rs. 7 crore in the Mandvi branch of the bank. While granting him bail in August last year, the court had directed him to deposit Rs. 16 crore within six months. — PTI
