Laxman in Wisden's top five


V.V.S. Laxman, who finds a place in Wisden's top five cricketers of the year.

CHENNAI APRIL 4. Indian batting star V.V.S. Laxman, who played one of Test cricket's greatest innings in Kolkata against Steve Waugh's Australia in 2001 that helped his country win the series, is among the top five `Cricketers of the Year' in the Wisden Cricketers' Almanack 2002, which will be released on Friday.

Others in the elite bunch are Australians Adam Gilchrist, Damien Martyn and Jason Gillespie, and Zimbabwean southpaw Andy Flower.

The edition also contains a full coverage of the life of Sir Donald Bradman, who passed away in February, 2001.
