Tehri panel set up

DEHRA DUN APRIL 7. The Uttaranchal Government today set up a high-level committee to go into aspects of the rehabilitation issue related to the Tehri Dam project but failed to fix a time frame for distribution of compensation to the remaining 1,100 families, which are still living in Tehri town where the dam is situated, officials said.

On the other hand, the Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC), a nodal agency for construction of the dam, stuck to its decision.
