Rocket wreckage

Washington April 7. The wreckage of a failed 1996 space project was expected to tumble back into the earth's atmosphere beginning today, but very little of the 535-kilogramme element was expected to survive re-entry, according to NASA space officials.

It was not clear if there was any connection to multiple reports of fireballs and unusual light phenomena in five cities in southern Germany Saturday evening, German police said.
