NEW DELHI, APRIL 7.The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has launched a programme for complete computerisation of all its activities in the operation stage wherein human resources, maintenance, stores, accounts, project execution and property development activities will be interlinked and fully computerised to avoid manual delays, heavy documentation and duplication if inter-departmental activities. Code named ``Shikhar'', the Enterprise Resource Plan will establish a data bank of information within the DMRC which will be available to all departments round the clock and will thus help in improving efficiency and increasing productivity of the corporation. A press release issued by DMRC said the software used for the Enterprise Resource Plan is SAP and a dedicated team of experts is involved in implementing the project, which is scheduled to be completed before November this year and is due to become fully functional before the start of the Metro Rail operations in December 2002, when the Shahdara-Tis Hazari section would open.
