Prabakaran exposed

Sir, — The press conference of Velupillai Prabakaran would have been chaotic but for the presence of his adviser, Anton Balasingham. It was clear that Mr. Prabakaran was not articulate even in Tamil and his thought process appeared undeveloped.

Proof was also provided about his role in the former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi's murder when, to a question, he did not deny his role. Whoever believes that by describing the assassination as tragic Mr. Prabakaran has not accepted his role must be naive.

Anyone who takes Mr. Prabakaran's words seriously or gives credence to his statements is making a mistake. That he managed to surface only shows the pitiable state the Sri Lankan Government is in.

S. Pushpavanam,
Tiruchi, T.N.
