We continue to seek Prabakaran's extradition: Govt.

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI APRIL 12. India today said that it continued to seek the extradition of the LTTE leader, Vellupillai Prabakaran, and reiterated that it did not intend to involve itself in the proposed talks between the Tigers and the Sri Lankan authorities.

``It (the LTTE) is a proscribed organisation and I am not aware of the reconsideration of this issue'', the External Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Nirupama Rao, said here today.

India was committed to backing the unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Sri Lanka and the resolution of the Tamil question through a negotiated settlement which met the aspirations of all communities.

India's High Commissioner to Sri Lanka was in touch with the Sri Lankan Government, she said.
