Sumit loses to Emmanuel in final

NEW DELHI APRIL 12 . Sumit Prakash Gupta's three-tournament winning streak came to an end as he finished runner-up to Franklyn Emmanuel of Sri Lanka in the final of the fourth tournament, in the ITF East Asian under-14 tennis circuit in Jakarta.

Having won the first tournament in the East Asian circuit last week, Sumit topped the list of 33 boys with 300 points and is sure to be selected for the ITF team for the European circuit.

Sumit and Madura Ranganathan made the mixed doubles final as well but had to concede the match as the 13-year-old Sumit had earlier withdrawn from the singles final at 3-6, 3-5 with an injury.

This young lad from Itawa, won two singles titles in the ITF South and Central Asian circuit here a few months ago making the initial waves at the international level.
