SC notice to Modi

NEW DELHI APRIL 15. The Supreme Court today issued notice to the Centre, the Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, and others on a petition seeking an impartial inquiry into the incidents of communal violence in the State by a special investigating team.

Admitting a public interest petition (PIL), a three-Judge Bench comprising the Chief Justice, S.P. Bharucha, Justice Shivaraj V. Patil and Justice H.K. Sema, also issued notice to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bharatiya Janata Party, the State Director-General of Police and other senior police officials.
