He had played par on the first nine and had a birdie on the 14th. The day's best card was returned by Manav Das of Ambala who is top seeded for the tournament. Manav carded par scores on both the nine holes to end up with a score of par 72 for the day. The eighth leg of the IGU rated tournament is of great importance, as the top eight players would get to play for the country in tournaments abroad. That being the case, the competition was tough and the fact that five players were tied for the second spot reflected the intensity of the competition. Keshav Mishra, Simarjeet Singh, Gagan Verma, Manav Das and Dinesh Kumar all had identical scores of 147 for the two days, just a stroke behind the leader Gurbaaz. The cut was applied at 24 over 168 and 40 players made the cut. Prem Bhatia ( 14th), RBC Nair (16th), Arjun Ramesh (20th) David D'Souza ( 21st) Sreepad Renu (27th), Raid Mahmood (37th) and Sanjeev Mehera (40th) made the cut from Bangalore. K. Harish, M. Prakash and G. Ravi Kumar from Mysore also made the cut. The results: 1. Gurbaaz Mann ( 71,75) 146; 2. Keshav Mishra ( 71,76), Simarjeet Singh (74,73), Gagan Verma (71,76), Manav Das 9 75,72) and Dinesh Kumar ( 72,75) 147 each; 3.Harinder Gupta (74,75) 149; 4. Jasjeet Singh ( 77,73) 150; Vikram Rana (77,75) and P. Krishna Reddy (77,75) 152 each.
