Killings protested

By Shujaat Bukhari

JAMMU APRIL 17.

Thousands of people today took out a procession in Rafiabad area of Baramullah district to protest the killing of five civilians allegedly by pro-government Ikhwan militants late on Tuesday.

A band of Ikhwan militants entered Balhama village in Rafiabad area, barged into the house of one Abdul Majid Sheikh and asked for food at gun point.

When the inmates refused to oblige them, they opened fire on the members of two houses who had by then come out.

Four persons died on the spot while another died of injuries in hospital. Three others who were injured are being treated in a hospital.
